A Brief Information About Datar WordPress Theme

Datar is responsive WordPress theme which focuses on content and typography also photos. Datar is meant to be a theme for writers and personal bloggers. Working together with Jetpack WordPress plugin, you can enhance the functionalities of your blog with Datar.

Datar currently supports 2 widget areas around header/site branding section (above and below it), which you can use to put social buttons (above) and banner widget (below). Datar also supports Jetpack’s Infinite Scroll feature, Tiled Gallery, etc.

You can also use Datar as your starter theme to build a brand new WordPress theme.

For future updates, I will put some widget areas around header and some other custom functionalities to enhance the look of your blog with Datar.

Design

With really nice-looking single-column design, you can focus more on content than anything else. You can customize it with your preferences. There’s no boundary in customizing it.

Responsiveness

Datar WordPress Theme is, of course, responsive. It will resize its design automatically whenever anyone views it on various device screens such as PC, tablet and any other smartphones.

Plugin Compability

Datar is compatible with major WordPress plugins. Datar is very compatible with Jetpack plugin. You can use several Jetpack’s built-in modules to supercharge the features inside Datar. Modules such as infinite scroll, social icons, tiled galleries, and many more are very compatible with Datar.

How to’s

Basic

Installation

1. Download the Datar WordPress theme. Make sure it is in .zip file.
2. Open your site Dashboard => Appearance => Themes => Add new => Upload
3. Upload the .zip file to install, and then activate it.

Menu

Currently Datar only supports one menu area, it is Primary menu below the site title. Create a new menu and set it as Primary menu through Appearance => Menus.

Widgets

Datar supports two custom widget areas; below site title and above.

-To enable the social icons like the demo, put below code into Text widget and then place it in Above Header widget position:

Change # with each of your social profile URLs. Copy-paste the code into the Text widget and place it into Above Header widget area.

– To use banner or any ad banners, place the script/code into Text widget and place it into Below Header widget area. It supports 728x90px banner.

As an alternative, you can also place Search widget into the area. The Search widget is responsive so it will adapt every screen size.
